3 easy ways to stay on track this Easter

I feel like it was just yesterday when I was writing my top tips for keeping in shape over the silly season. The fact is there’s always some event or occasion that’s going to test our will. But if we pause and have a think about some ways we can help mitigate the damage we can well reduce the set backs.

Firstly I want to start off by saying unless have iron clad discipline please do not say you’re not going to eat any chocolate over Easter (unless you’re one of those funny people who doesn’t like chocolate…).

This will likely result in a full on binge session leaving you feeling bloated, sick to the stomach and guilty.

It’s important that we balance ourselves and realise there are going to be times where we should indulge a little as long as it’s not a consistent habit.

So allow yourself to indulge just a little over this Easter and do not feel guilty. That way you’ll more likely avoid over eating.

My second option to staying on track this Easter is to choose healthier options with your chocolate. What I mean here is opt for some dark chocolate rich in antioxidants, that way you’re still getting some health benefits out of it. Or whip up a healthy dessert and take that over to your families instead to enjoy. You’ll be more tempted to eat that than the oversized milk chocolate egg.

Finally in the lead up (and those post sale days) avoid the confectionary aisles when you go shopping and do not go shopping hungry!

I’ll admit it’s hard with those sneaky supermarkets putting Easter eggs everywhere but if you stick to your outside aisles you’ll avoid the bulk of the “in your face” advertising.

Remember if you do happen to go off track a little al you need to do is get back on it the next day. Don’t beat yourself up and give up. Consistency is what will get you results.
